No Excuses
Have you lost weight only to gain it back? This cycle of loss-gain-loss-gain just burns my butt.
Personally, I manage my weight daily. I mean that literally. On most days I’m pretty good at it. I’ve had eight years of practice [www.noyoyodieting.com]!
But on others days at time, I do poorly. And there are always excuses.
Right now I’m coming out of three such weeks where the scale shows my lack of focus and poor habits that creep up on me. I haven't gotten frustrated yet, but that's probably because I've been more delusional than disappointed.
I've been lying to myself that the 12 pounds is nothing. “I traveled more this month..." " I’ve been more stressed because I’m working through some major projects and have five new weight loss coaching clients..." "I haven’t had time to exercise..." And, even this one: "It was that time of the month.”
Do those excuses sound familiar to you? And I bet you know that they can all be true, and it doesn't matter. The bottom line: the scale doesn’t lie. Those extra 12 pounds DO matter.
Key point: Don't deceive yourself. Every calorie matters; every pound matters; every day matters. Because you matter.
I was a yo-yo dieter. (Like you?) I lost, regained, lost and regained the same 20 or 60 pounds over and over again on countless diet and fitness programs. Now I've kept off 90 pounds for more than ten years, but now am struggling with an 18-lb weight gain. Follow my journey as my thinner life continues!
